I like it....definitely can feel the up and down. I would probably agree with DC Rainmaker though. Even though I like it, if I didn't have it or didn't know about it, I probably wouldn't miss it too much. I think it adds more than the road feel feature of the neo or the kickr fan would.

Setup was super easy and it just works.

Thinking about trying Zwift this winter. Last winter was pretty warm. Leading to lots of melted snow, which freezes overnight. Makes for some dangerous riding conditions.

Trying to decide on a trainer. I wouldn't mind a Wahoo Kickr, but don't want to spend too much up front, as I don't want to end up like Dave B and get bored with it quick.

Just pony up for a Kickr or something comparable and give it a try. If you don't like it I would be you could sell it for a small loss.

I use an iPad with a Bluetooth connection from my Kickr so I haven't really invested much in the setup beyond the Kickr, and it really is a game changer in terms of the activity. An hour goes by a lot faster on Zwift than it ever did on rollers or a fluid trainer.

I've done one ride so far as part of my free trial. It was amusing. I lasted a half hour. But I can see that it is at least a bit less boring then just blasting Judas Priests and banging out intervals.

My set up is a G3 Powertap Hub, Edge 520 on rollers. The rollers help take the boringness out of it but a couple times I caught myself getting too much into it and almost cornering right off the rollers

The odd thing is that I have to shift down to a low gear to descend and switch to a high gear to climb if I want to mimic the in world terrain. The opposite of reality. It's kind of fun tho.

Good to know, been thinking about switching to try it.

Love your Watopia map, by the way. Reminds me of D&D back in the late 70's.

Since Zwift couldn't connect to the internet on my lunch break, I downloaded Sufferfest and did 45 minutes on that instead. Pretty enjoyable. I'll have to get in a couple more sessions before the trial ends.

My laptop stand isn't pretty but it works!

Saab - how does it compare to the computrainer? I just don't see paying the monthly Zwift premium when I *think* the computrainer software gives a similar experience... minus the group ride...

Am I wrong?

I have never used a Computrainer. So I can’t compare. I used to rode rollers or a trainer, when I could handle them in my younger days. The smart trainer and Zwift are better than them, at least if I supplement them with a good podcast or two.

I don’t do groups on Zwift but I won’t deny liking that the other avatars on Zwift are real riders, somewhere else, riding a device. It’s a bit like riding a path, by yourself, but with other riders at the same time. Except without the danger....

Seriously. Why post in this thread unless you're deliberately trying to be a dick.

4K Apple TV + Zwift has been going pretty nice. This CABLE thing is nice too. It transmitts my ANT+ Power, HR, and Cadence to 1 channel of bluetooth to the apple TV. The apple TV can support 2 channels of bluetooth.

I use the CABLE to handle: Power, Cadence, Heart Rate
Kickr handles: Speed, Erg

Nice fan helps out as well as the mirror for staying cool and checking leg form. It's also a plus to have 1 device to handle it all with the apple TV, only downside is that the UI doesn't have as many customizations. I'd really like to be able to change the map view.

Wisconsin basement at an enjoyable 59 degrees!

I just invested in an interactive trainer today. Once it arrives can I just use my Samsung smart TV to run zwift or is there more to it?
