this alu frame takes a goofy 31.0 seatpost, and for fit purposes i needed zero setback. i've got a USE shim in the mail, should be here saturday, according to USPS.

alternatively, i won an auction for a super cheap thomson 30.9 post which is also in the mail somehere. i'm gambling that a tenth of a millimiter isnt a dealbreaker for seatpost diameter.

either way, i should be up and rolling next week, but i'm in wisconson for the bulk of it!

Nick, came so close to having one of these sweethearts, killer bike with your planned build. No 170 cranks in the hoard, sorry.

seatpost shim showed up today, so i was able to get a post in and take the peg for a spin. this frame is one size bigger than i should be riding, for sure, but i was able to get my contact point numbers dialed in without any trouble, just not a lot of seatpost showing.

anyway, the ride is fantastic. very responsive frame. i havent been on aluminum in quite some time, and this one is a winner. lots of "snap" when you push the pedals on this thing.

saddle is a place holder, and i'm ditching that terrible FSA crankset as soon as i can. Just found a suitable super record unit from someone here, so that should do nicely!

Love that frame. I had one about ten years ago and remember it had a beautiful, deep cobalt paint.

The bike looks great and pegs are a dream to ride for sure. I haven't been riding most of my others since dialing in mine!
