Garmin Varia Camera?

I have a strong suspicion that it’s coming very soon. When I synced my Garmin Edge 1030 last evening, there was a new ConnectIQ widget for a Varia Camera available. While I just purchased a Varia UT800 front light last week to replace the POS Cycliq Fly12CE I had been using, I will be an early adopter of any Varia cameras.

I can neither confirm nor deny that I will have one next week for demo.

Oooh... I'll be all over this once it's available and Garmin has stabilized the firmware.... so... 2024?

Then I'll just need a custom jersey that says, "SMILE!! You're on asscam!"

I would absolutely be on board with one. I’d think radar triggered camera makes a lot of sense.

I hope this will work with a Wahoo computer like the varia radar does.

Perfect timeframe for me, I'm always a late adapter, LOL! Case in point today. I just now ran to my favorite LBS and got a new Edge 830 and Varia rear light. Upgrading from an Edge 800 I've been running for probably a decade or so

It might record to internal memory, but it's not gonna display images on the headunit like the patent describes.

I really like the rear Varia light; way more than I thought I would. One of the few Garmin products that hasn’t disappointed me. I’m sure I’d replace it with a camera light if they made one.

I’m happy I held off buying a new radar, my first generation model is still going so long as I charge it often.

Edited- Should have read the link above first.
I wonder if it be a all one one unit, camera, tail light, radar or a separate camera unit that communicates with the radar…

So is the basic utility of this device solely in the courtroom? Ie. it will only record events that get too close, and will overwrite those unless you tell the device to not do so. The only time you'll look at what's recorded is if something actually happens (accident)?
