Lucky to be alive?

Look what I did yesterday. Got this one stretch that is a bit sketchy to mow and we've had a lot of rain recently. No prob, I'll tackle it again.

Thought I was going slow, and not on a huge decline, but this thing just rocketed off my retaining wall.

Pretty sure I should be dead right now.

popped a tire off, but surprisingly no damage. I have a little road rash...err driveway rash from the duck and roll dismount, and a sore ankle but fine other than that.

Damn thing still runs, too.

Lucky dude. I've been using a zt for years, and had one get away from me on Saturday and clipped an azalea. It was damp and I was mowing in the opposite direction of where I go normally. Scared me to death. Bet you changed your shorts.

My mind went through scenarios of damage, broken bones, and even death in that 2-3 sec ride. I was a little shocked when I got up and was fine. I've had road rash from bike wrecks way worse.

How to conquor that hill? I'm not sure I am brave enough to learn.

I'm imagining this picture on a craigslist for sale ad soon.

"Zero Turn Mower, Excellent Condition. This thing has been flawless, but is just a lot more mower than I need for my lawn."

Glad you are ok.

It looks like you were mowing between retaining wall. If yes.......where is the fence for the lower retains wall?

And roll bar is way too low to do any good. This is coming from someone who used to own a tractor.

Dude, there are no prizes for the gravest injury. Ditch that thing and get something safe, or just pay someone to mow it for you.

Not worth it.

We have a family friend that worked like a demon to build up a successful company. He sold his company for a very handsome sum, bought a lake house, and a year later his family found him on a slope, crushed under his lawnmower.

Maybe consider turning the slope into a wildflower area.
