Wow. You certainly have a very varied pedigree. Impressive. Hats off.

It's nice how strong and vigorous my dandelions are no matter the soil conditions. And they spread so easily to all the non-wooded parts of my property. No need to mow or water them. And they provide sustenance to the bees. Win, win, all around.

So great numerous books have written about them! For example:

A much better full-body workout than cycling. And, you can drink cold beer while doing it.

I did the same job, around the same time. I will say the 630a weekend start was tough for this high school kid …

I was always a morning guy, so that was fine with me....done by 2:00 and the whole afternoon was free!

When there was tournament, we would start at 5:30 so we could be done before the start....and then headed to the other muni course across town to play! I also got stuck on the night watering shift for awhile...lonely gig but had a quad-runner to get around the course....

Really good advice already given.
Zero turns rely on having the weight on the rear for good traction. Put more weight on the front and you will loose traction. That’s why you won’t see huge heavy tires on the front.

Usually most manufacturers would not recommend to ride on anything over 15% incline, and us cyclists we know that 15% might not sound as much, but it is quite a bit!

If you have hills and want to run a ZTR, I’d recommend one that has front and rear suspension for the frame. The front suspension will make a HUGE difference on the maneuverability and cutting quality while on an incline.

cool, is that a husqvarna? what's the optimal grass height and how long can it go?

i looked at one of those awhile back for even a small section of yard, but it didn't have enough oomph to cut my lawn. consider i had a 50" deck husqvarna lawn tractor and that was the right tool for the job (lotta grass, large yard). my grass was nuts, crazy thick and grew like gangbusters in peak season (i lived in northeast). even mowed up till late november some years....and neighbors often wondered what the !&^%$! was in my soil. i told them i fertilized with epo and hgh.

to the question at hand, zero turns are sweet. a good one will set you back a few bucks. hot tip: look on craiglist during the off-season (depending on where you live). more folks will sell stuff then for better price.

A sod/fertilizer store* I go to is a Husqvarna dealer and service shoppe. They have a unit out front cutting grass daily.. Ramps too so the mower can go over obstacles and up onto an island. According to shoppe staff, not allowing the grass grow too much between cuts is key.....and best for the grass.

* I didn't realize how bad Scotts etal fertilizer is until I started using "boutique" fertilizer.
