It's highly polished stainless...same with the chain stays.

Congrats on your Waterford, Chicago!

I share the love, as here's my RS-22 (second hand frame) .....

Congratulations! I have 2 Waterford-built bikes also. I love the lugs on your bike, even if the rest of the world has moved on. I hope you have many happy miles on it!

Welcome to Waterford world

Bought my first custom bike and my first Waterford in 2005, a RS22. I just went through and rebuilt or replaced all the worn bits and it feels like a brand new bike again. Such a great ride.

Gunnar Street Dog

Another thumbs up for Waterford. Esteemed forumite PCB sent me his Gunnar Street Dog a few weeks ago. I've been riding fixie almost exclusively for the last 5 years and the Street Dog rides like a magic carpet...significantly smoother and more responsive compared to my Surly Steamroller and All City Nature Boy.

Lots of nice Waterfords in this thread! I love mine, which is a 75th Anniversary Schwinn Paramount with the same overall look as the one I raced on in the early '70s. [That may be a bit misleading: so much has changed, such as a carbon fork, carbon components, non-quill stems.] But it has a vibe much like my original '70s Paramount. It has polished SS lugs, seat stays and chain stays. It rides really, really well. Here it is next to my favorite source of training nutrition:

Awesome bike but I really could use some deep fried Twinkies, I did not realize they existed but now I’m craving them.

One of the most beautiful bikes I have seen was featured in a Waterford catalog 20-25 years ago. A black 2200 with polished stainless lugs that DID look like chrome.

I have a pair of RS-11s here and they are nice bikes! They definitely make a fine steel bike and the photos here prove it!

Couldn’t agree more. Maybe twenty Waterfords under me, off th’ peg and custom. Always a pleasure with the folks and the frames.

It has been a while since I have been back to this thread. I just wanted to thank everyone for the kind words about my bike! And love the other waterfords posted here!
