Advice for rides / rentals Grindelwald

I have a week long stay in Grindelwald in late June, chaperoning several teens.
I might be able to get a ride or two in, nothing crazy.

A couple of years ago I had a similar situation in Provence and managed to have a good couple of rides with a rental from a local shop( brought my own shoes) so I wanted to try again in Grindelwald. Prefer to ride road then gravel but MTB okay too.

Searched the forum for previous discussions about Grindelwald and didn't really find much.

So I was hoping some people here had some experience in that area. I did spend a couple of nights in Interlaken/ Grindelwald 35 years ago so I know the area is beautiful. We wont have a car.

It's been over a decade since we've been to Grindelwald. When we were there the closest bike shop was Imboden Bike in Lauterbrunnen. It looks like they are still there and do bike rentals.

Have a look at this website and search for rides:

The Grosse Scheidegg climb is one of the most beautiful I’ve done - especially from the Meiringen side and descending to Grindelwald (and no cars on most of the climb) with views of the big peaks.

If you’re a good gravel rider you might even do some of the mtb routes on a gravel bike.

Enjoy the trip!

I rode Grosse Scheidegg from Meiringin last fall. In September, Grindelwald was beyond a zoo. Totally insane, and so was Lauterbrunnen. Throngs of people everywhere.
I think you could find a bike rental spot in Grindelwald, and if you were going to do a ride, I'd maybe suggest trying to get up to the top of Grosse Scheidegg. A lot of that route is closed to cars.
