i'm genuinely sorry to hear that this type of thing happened here.

i know Keith goes above and beyond the call of duty and screens each and every member before approving them here, and to his credit, this place is largely free of scammers, spammers and trolls, and i'm thankful he is our first line of defense.

similarly, we are the next line of defense, so if something seems fishy, report it as soon as you can so this kind of thing doesnt happen again.

I once read an article about someone figuring out how to grift someone sending Nigerian-scam e-mails. It would take someone cleverer than I.

This is key. I tried searching peterdaniels in the feedback thread and that handle did not come up. That means that if people were dealing with this person they were leaving no feedback. This can prevent others from falling into the same trap. Dealing on the Classifieds is a buyer beware proposition. Also note that buying from, or selling to someone with no history and no feedback is ripe for getting taken advantage of.

Just received a message from Jimborello interested in some cranks that I’m selling. Agreed to my price and asked me to invoice him at a suspicious email address that differs from the on associated with paceline. Still with 0 posts.
I have messaged him back. We’ll see how he responds.

The email is exactly as the one screen shorted above and also supplied edited pics off the net when asked.
