I'm afraid the good ol' days of the Solvang Century are in the past. Taken over by Planet Ultra, it's now limited to 1000 riders (3,000 plus before, under SCOR), no after party with DJ and chicken dinner, no beer cart, no nothing. Sad. Just sayin'.

Really hard to believe that this used to be the GOLD STANDARD for Centuries. All good things must come to an end, I guess.

Advise: Don't bother. 1000 rider limit (used to be 3,000)....With no post ride events/party, beer wagon, Chicken dinner, DJ, like the old days..... not worth the entry fee. All roads (especially going out Santa Rosa Road and Foxen Canyon) are in horrible disrepair. The locals hate cyclists and have no intention of fixing the roads. Sad to say but....This ride is D-U-N DONE! Planet Ultra is CLUELESS!
