New Strava Privacy settings
Strava has made some changes and for me, they are awful.
I usually take part in the monthly challenges (total distance, total climbing, longest one day ride). This has been fun because all of my cycling buddies do it. This info used to be hidden from the public and could only been seen by my followers. Well for some reason now, the only way to take part in the challenges is to make your activities public, meaning anyone on strava can see them whether you want them to or not. I have a seriously hard time with this. Anyone else find this to be a problem. Anyone know a work around? |

what don't you want people to see?
The only things I can think of would be, 1) make a new account, and upload your rides to that account, and use it to join the challenge, and 2) make a big stealth area around your house, like, as big as you can.

Strava's security setting and what you want visible to others, even if you have a premium account sucks.

Enjoy Strava, or Enjoy Privacy. There is no in between.

sure seems to me that if you want to be ranked against other people, transparency requires that your efforts be public. But I can see that the challenges would still be fun if your results weren't public and weren't stacked up against other people
