Yeah, the motor is large. In contrast with XC though, I think he might be one of the best if not the best bike handler at the front of the CX field. He takes crazy risks that no one else does and pulls them out by virtue of superior reactions.

Remember in the 2017 and 2018 CX world champs when he would have a crash or weird mechanical and then mentally bury himself? That weakness seems to be gone too.
He landed on his face at the Ronde this year and still rode back into a 4th place?

Let's just hope he doesn't impale his quadzillas on a barrier like Wout.

Right on cue, this discussion of how long he can maintain his current form.

https://cyclingtips.com/2019/08/the-...e-for-burnout/

Also brings up the interesting point - if he skips CX until late in the series and Wout is still recovering, who wins the series title next year?

He won XCC and XCO in Lenzerheide (Ninos home course) just last weekend.

Ridiculous.

Greg
Post race interview:

"After 3 hours, the average speed was still 50kph. It was really hard, full gas all day. I kind of like it like that."

If the Dutch team can support him, worlds should be one heck of a race.

Eli Iserbyt has been crushing people so far this CX season. Can't wait to see what MVDP looks like this weekend.

"...i didn't really have the [cross sensation]" he says, then wins by 20 seconds on a muddy technical course.

And now he's talking about Vuelta 2020 after Tokyo Olympics MTB.

I love this racing polyglot.
