Mathieu Van Der Poel is coming...
And he did it again...1st place in the UCI short-track and in today’s XC race in Val di Sole!
Playback is available on red bull racing. He saved the best for last and crushed Shurter and Fluckinger on the first climb of the 6th lap. Amazing stuff! His long term goal is MTB Olympic gold next year. He's actually skipping MTB worlds and the last WC round in Snowshoe, WVa to focus on road worlds.

He was also noticeably avoiding one big a-line rock drop that Nino and Flueckiger were hitting every time. MVDP wins at XC because he can drop massive power whenever he wants.

Remember in the 2017 and 2018 CX world champs when he would have a crash or weird mechanical and then mentally bury himself? That weakness seems to be gone too.
