Couple of spots to check

Sissy’s in Lompoc is great
Mattei’s tavern is good too
I would go to Casmalia, Hitching Post there is historic and food great
Jocko’s is a bit North of Santa Maria but worth it
If you keep going north... SLO.. go for the Farmers Market on Thursday

Wine
Pinot is King is SB County
I recommend Curran, Margerum (blend), Loring, Hitching Post Wine... plenty of others.

I know folks that do wine “tours” by bike... I would suggest an All Road Bike for that

NONE BETTER! Trust me. I'll say it again...no better road riding anywhere. The annual Solvang Century is March 14th. It's the guaranteed GOLD STANDARD of Centuries. If not that, then just head up either Ballard Cyn Road or Santa Rosa road and just keep on crankin'. There's Firestone-Walker Brewery (my absolute favorite) and/or Figueroa Mountain Brewery, Plus La Fond Winery (the best!!!), Foxen Winery, Rusack Winery and several other's that have wines that are SO good they'll bring tears to your eyes. Heading up for the Century in a few weeks, my 28th year-in-a-row for this awesome ride. Go to youtube.com .... Solvang Century is well documented.

There's one of the best motorcycle museums in town also. You need to call and make an appointment because it doesn't have normal hours.

Definitely. Though there's some pretty choice riding up near SLO, too. Almost a toss-up between the two.

I was there last weekend. Mt Fig is no joke.

Check out Industrial Eats in Beullton. Amazing food at amazingly low prices. It is also BYOB.

100%! I've ridden motorcycles all through that area multiple times. Brings a tear to my eye.

Me too. I was actually looking at flights. Was just in SF for a week but did not even leave the hotel. Spring break in March, but competing interests...

Cycling is great (recall Highroad held their team camp there for many years)

Wine is GREAT. In fact you could spend 3-4 days just doing that.

Food is great.

While I was tasting wine there, the thought certainly crossed my mind that scheduling rides to end before wineries open (around noon) would probably be a prudent thing.

A long time ago my wife and I rode bikes in Napa from winery to winery for tasting. This was not a good idea since the two activities (for me) proved to be incompatible.

And there is NO WAY I am riding my bike on 29 or Silverado trail solely for cycling recreation. Too many potentially impaired folks.
