I've been on the same start line with this guy a few times in the mid Atlantic cross scene, never did manage to line up on the finish line with him though

Good read about a dedicated bike racer, a lifer and someone who gave so much back to the sport...

It really was a great read. I did race with him in the 80's. So many references to folks I respect.

Good story about the lifer. I liked it. Thanks.

Sitting here reading it in a hotel room in El Paso. I am 72. People ask me ...when are you gonna retire. I dunno. I still like doing the work and keeping busy. It's not like I am a great accountant, but I can hold my own. To me, this is what I do.
