63.5 mph on RAAM 4 man team coming into mexican hat utah this summer. such a perfect end to a perfect 8 hour shift on the bike that day. new pavement, new schwalbe one 25 on new boyd altamont wheels on an awesome steel zanconato. it felt perfect and smooth and not scary....just right. scary for the driver of our follow vehicle 60 feet behind me.

never been much of a car guy, but i wouldn't mind another shot at that descent although it's probably asking too much for that perfect storm of variables.

on a bike, 58mph while descending a mountain outside of Salt Lake City, UT

in a car -- as a passenger -- something in the neighborhood of 130mph, sitting in the back seat of my buddy Pat's Citroen with the Guardiano sisters

in a car -- as the driver -- I have no idea. Don't think I've ever knowingly broken 100mph when I was behind the wheel.

Bike- 65. That was locally here. Grease spun out of the rear hub. I flatted at the end from the brake heat.

Car- 149. Germany

My motorcycle speedo was still rising past 135mph when I looked at it - the pucker set in shortly thereafter and I shut it down - not sure where it actually went..

That was on the 101 somewhere north of Eureka circa 2000 I think.

Bicycle? Probably around 55mph...

Our hills aren’t that straight/long/open around here.

On a bicycle: 53.5mph down the Charles Road hill in Spokane.

On a motorcycle: about 125moh on my Dunstall 810.

In a car: north of 130mph driving an E-type Jag in Hawaii.

Just for fun, in an airplane: Mach 2.01 (1530mph) in the Concorde.

I had a 1969 Kawasaki H1, tuned. My roommate's dad had a 1955 Mercedes Gullwing.

I went way faster than I should have in/on either.

On a bicycle, between 55-60mph (Avocet 20 computer).
All of this happened when I was well under 30 yo.

These days, never more than 80mph in a motor vehicle and 45 on on bike.

Bike, 67.5 **Edit, this can't be right. (Maybe 57.5...and my memory has just been exaggerating ever since) Downhill in Austin keeping pace with cars...lots of speed wobble and not enjoyable.

Motorcycle, 105 before I decided I didn't need to be doing that 3 months into my riding career.

Car, 125, eh

Me too. I did get carried away in 2015 and did 49 mph in France (PBP) but 45 is about my limit
