Strava year so far

I got an email from Strava today telling me I've only ridden a little over 300 miles so far this year and alerting me I only have a couple more weeks to "make a push to max out my annual stats".

Clearly I've failed.

Considering I've commuted pretty much every day, ridden most weekends, and took a couple of longish bike camping trips, I've obviously done a lousy job of uploading every ride.

If I was serious about tracking my base / wattage / thresholds or whatever, I would have been more committed. Oh well, I guess I've spent more time focusing on being on the bike than I have improving my riding.

Not trying to sound sanctimonious, just casually amused by an app telling me I've been a lousy cyclist in need of shaming and encouragement.

Mine was pretty miserable too but in my case I was accurate with uploading rides. Health issues kept me off the bike most of the year. Awful. Hoping for so much better next year. Less than 2000 km so far.

3804 miles
326,647 feet elevation

mostly on dirt....

I am down from last year by 25%. Hopefully, next year I will be back past 5000 miles. To the OP, get a Wahoo Element and it does all the work for you. All you need to do is turn it on, press start and then press stop. I never used strava until about two years ago, being a stats nut its fun to track.

Apparently I've done 17,100km and 212,000 meters of climbing. That may be the most I've done in a year. That includes quite a bit of slow fatbiking at 10km/h in the winter, and does include trainer kms (but trainer km don't have any vertical).

Guess my new goal is to go over 300,000ft by the end of the year...seems very likely.

The numbers strava reported were off by almost 1000 miles for me and all of these miles were actually logged in strava.

strava, has built a nice community of users but it’s become more of a burden than its worth to me. I’m thinking of unplugging in the new year. Anyone else done this and regretted it?

Just another way for Strava to get more screen time. They don't care if you KOM'ed every segment in those 300 miles. Low miles = less time spent on app = emails saying you suck to get you to open the app.

I have a couple of friends who did not post at all in November despite a couple of huge rides.

I like having the info available. I just don't live or die by it.

Strava has a lot of uses. If you don't like what it's giving you, then don't use it.

Even for my meager totals this year it's been a great tool.

I've only used it about half this year until I saw it was connected to Paceline forum members who are listed on strava and have since used it most of the time with Garmin. It only has me listed at 1,526 miles but I have quite a bit of mileage on MapMyRide when I wasn't using my Garmin, I need to figure out how to upload it to Strava.

Same goal here...assuming you meant 100 mile rides...
