Front hub with 12mm thru axle recommendations
Disc hub of course.
Seems like the SRAM 900 ($60) and the hope pro 4 ($90) are my best bets. DT Swiss 350 only has 15mm. There are also cheaper hubs but I don't know how cheap I want to go. Don't really want to break $100. Not sure what if any difference I'll see between the SRAM and the hope. |

I like affordable front hubs, never really had any issues on front hubs/wheels. How about the Shimano RS770 for around $80?

Very easy to get end caps for the DT. May come with 15 but 12 mm end caps pop right in.

Bitex BX106 fits the bill.

A few cheaper hubs from Shimano apparently support 12mm but don't seem to default to it. Same issue with the DT Swiss 350, the end caps are stupid expensive for what they are. |

Get a dt 350 centerlock and a 15mm to 12mm adapter(<$20).

As ergott said, Bitex. They are on sale at Bikehubstore right now. Can't go wrong.

At $70 do they do anything better than the SRAM or hope?

To play captain obvious... a disc front hub has more responsibility than a non-disc front hub because it has to deal with the braking forces on the hub shell and heat of forces on the bearing(s).
...not to say that any of the hubs mentioned would have any issues. Another option would be one of Boyd's hubs. Comes in whatever axle configuration you want. I have a few thousand smooth and trouble free miles on a set of Boyd's centerlock disc Quest hubs. |

I’ve used both the SRAM 900 and the Hopes on several wheels. Hope bearings are not very good. I’ll never use a Hope rear hub again.
I love the 900’s. Inexpensive, lighter than Hopes and excellent bearings. I’ve got 1,900 mountain bike miles on my 900s this year without any issues. Recently built up a set of 650B gravel wheels with them too. |

I prefer centerlock.

If it makes a difference, most DT swiss hubs have swappable end-caps to fit darn near anything.
If I wanted the wheelset to match, I'd find the front to match the rear (obviously). If I didn't care, I'd buy the bitex, because centerlock is somewhat slightly nicer. If I was a label-slave I'd buy a DTswiss/Industry9/WhiteIndustries or something or other. Shimano RS770 is another option, but only in 36h I think (maybe also 32, no idea)? |

Both 32 and 36, I bought a 32f/36r from my LBS. Very nice hubset, but not cheap.
