3 collisions 3 damaged and or totalled bikes

The first 2 my injuries were minor--I filed police reports on all 3
With the minor injuries---chin stitches, road rash etc--both USAA and Geico rapidly compensated for wrecked bikes--AFTER I signed document stating I would make no further claims for physical injury. In every case I used LBS and also Scot Nicol of Ibis (one frame was custom show bike) to provide estimate of replacement value

In the 3rd and last collision was worse: broken hip, ribs, carbon bike broken in 3 places.
This time Nationwide was awful--asked for receipts, dates of buying many aftermarket items on the bike--none of which I had, my LBS did send a detailed and itemized list and it took Nationwide 13 months to pay--$5500 on a $ 7000 claim.

The hip is another long story. Suffice to say--use the driver's insurance despite the hassle
