I was at a dealers camp where Salsa was set-up. Asked their service guy, I believe maybe their main guy, and he said no, because of geometry. Said that's why they have the Fargo.
I know there's room for 27.5, just not sure wat that would do to the handling. Your experience? |

For those types of gravel roads, I keep my GK 35's at 28/32 psi. I've run them as low as 24/26 and they feel even better. The Texas Hill Country is far rockier, much rougher. Jeep trails is a much better description. There a 47 or even a plus size tire would be faster. So it's not so much comfort vs speed. Much more different horses for different courses. |

The BB drop of the Fargo is 70mm. Their service guy perhaps overstated the difference if you ask me. |

rider weight and riding style also matters.
you see some very talented cyclists who can just float over rough road and harsh gravel while others are more rigid in style and get jarred by every stone. obviously the perspective of a 130# rider and a 280# clyde are going to feel pretty different on the same volume tire too. honing skills, and experimenting are good things.
