When I was training for long, long rides I packed "sushi" rolls: nori, rice, egg, bacon, cream cheese, carrot, etc.

Individually packaged, 3 bites and you're good.

Requires some planning but they're pretty perfect when you've maxed out on bars + gels.

I like uncrustables, salty nut bars, and homemade bars when I have the time to make them.

Ah yes, the "fig newton" new and improved now with the figs removed!
I noticed the re-brand a couple of years ago to "real fruit bars".

They have lots of high-fructose corn syrup, like apparently almost everything,
so I switched to the Barbra's whole grain ones as an alternative;

I haven't found the blueberry flavored version in a while, i think they
dropped it in favor of the raspberry.

My wife makes an "energy bar" out of crushed nuts and dates... it's pretty damn delicious, but she likes them sweeter than I do, and uses a lot of dates... thus I don't generally take them.

But if she makes a batch with less dates, I'll sport those on rides.

It's literally nothing more than dates and crushed nuts, smashed into bars... no sugar, no nothing. Super good.

What's your current goto ride food?

Except they melt from the heat of your body.

A banana is actually more perfect, and the wrapper is biodegradable, too.

Track down the Newman's Own version, "Fig Newmans" and all of their other knock off cookies without HFCS. 👍🏼

Clif bars - taste good, convenient to carry, and available just about everywhere.

Lim potatoes except I use baby Yukon Gold and keep the skin on them. Sea salt, virgin olive oil, and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. But it has to be a really long and special ride. Normally I'll just do a chocolate milk and potato chips on a 100-150 mile ride. Otherwise, just a bottle or two of water.
