Hot Weather Jersey Recs

I’m hoping the forum can help me with recommendations for a summer/hot weather short sleeve jersey. My challenge is that I’m definitely not small or lean and I must have some non traditional proportions because a lot of stuff doesn’t seem to fit me right.

My go to brand has been Rapha for several years and the Brevet and Classic lines in XXL generally work really well for me (but definitely not the pro team line). The problem is I don’t feel like Rapha does summer jerseys that work well for the kind of heat I am riding in here in Texas. I’ve got several lightweight Brevet jerseys that don’t seem that light and I’ve tried the lightweight Classic jerseys but the material feels like tissue paper and the fit seems different. I also have my cycling club Jakroo jersey. The material is great but the cut has a super long torso which fits me weird.

Does anyone have a recommendation for brands that might fit similar to a Rapha Brevet or Classic that are light, breathable and good for hot weather? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Velocio sizing seems to be very fluid and their lightweight jerseys are top notch.

As mentioned above, the Velocio lightweight jerseys are nice and very stretchy. The fit is more on the race side so you may need to size up. Just as a heads up, their radiator jerseys seem to run smaller than their ultralight jerseys.

I routinely ride in mid 90's Florida heat. Love the La Passione Striver jerseys. Great in hot weather, mesh arms keep you cooler, but back is solid to prevent grilling.

I have 3 which are pretty good: Jackroo which came as custom, neopro and one of the Eliel ones (but it's a longer short sleeve, short body "race" one, so my least favorite of them). I didn't like the Castelli climber's jersey I had either.

The Cafe du Cyclist "Mona" jersey is pretty nice for a warm weather jersey....it is from their Audax collection, so is not too "racer-fit". Lot of nice details around the pockets...3 regular pockets, a zip pocket on the side and then a large full width pocket across the regular pockets. Not bulky at all but lots of storage.

Tradeoffs. Do you want a super airy jersey that cools you but means you need to slather lots of SPF lotion all over your torso before heading out? (lots of debates on whether sunscreen retards cooling effects of air). Or something with SPF protection that will run hotter. All of this strikes me as a 'no free lunch' situation.

An oldie but a goodie Froome result from a day riding in the sun in a summer jersey.

Move to upstate New York.
I rode to work this morning in a jacket with winter mitts on my hands.
It was 35F outside.
No sun issues!

You can also add a summer base layer - you'll also stay cooler as it helps the sweat evaporate.
