campy 8-speed exa/non-exa cassette question

I'm considering having a buddy bring out my old '92 serotta, which has been in storage at my folks house, last ridden in 2016 b4 my mom passed away.

Is it correct that EXA drive cassettes will work on both EXA drive and Regular 8-speed freehub, but not the other way (a regular campy 8-speed cassette WON'T work on EXA freehub)?

hope that makes sense, thank you, and a happy long weekend to all!

Yes, this is correct - EXA drive cassettes will work on pre-EXA drive freehubs, but pre-EXA drive cassettes will not work on EXA drive freehubs.

(This is the opposite of Shimano, where pre-Hyperglide cassettes worked on Hyperglide freehubs, but Hyperglide cassettes would not work on pre-Hyperglide freehubs.)
