Have no fear They dumped a bunch of Gore stuff at great prices, but what they carry is typically crap.

Got I actually suggest frequent washing to allow the material to do it's thing.

I was mine in a delicates bag on delicate cycle with a touch of laundry powder. Remove from machine, shake dry, and wear.

I bought the very 1st version, mine still works great and has zero holes in it. But I don't use it as a mountaineering jacket, I don't wear a hydration pack with it either. I also ride in the winter with full fenders, so my jacket isn't getting muddy.
Only thing that is worn are the ironed-on Gore logos.

But I did buy a back-up of the same thing when Sierra Trading Post had them on close out for $80 a few months ago.

But for a light jacket with great rain protection- Their is the Shakedry- then their is everything else.
I have gotten the shakedry muddy and it doesn’t seem to be an issue. I never washed it. I mean it’s a rain jacket, you know, kinda like soap.

Cheapest I can find at the moment is $277 from CC.
Seems a pretty big investment for something that will be needed maybe 5 times a year.
Guess I'll just patch the holes and get wet.

So.. shakedry.
I agree. ...and yeah, I have a shakedry.

Also have 2 other Gore hardshells that the shakedry made obsolete (except for color)
