So Chris Seistrup is now at around 13 days right? The record by Mike Hall is a few hours under 14 which is damn impressive, it will probably be awhile until someone is able to break that.

Yeah wouldn't he have to ride like 16-17 mph for the next 325 miles to beat that? non-stop!

I could be wrong. Either way it's all just crazy to me.

I just read this thing -

https://theradavist.com/2019/06/tour...e-race-part-4/

so is this why someone was saying we need less coverage on the TD?

To me this is some petty BS and really shows that we can make something out of nothing, no need to have pros involved but I can already see the debacle caused if a pro was involved...

I do have to say I may have under estimated pro riders when I said they don't want to ride these multi week races...

https://road.cc/content/news/263035-...-packing-event

that said, I will be with the, seems like few people, that does not care. Let whoever wants to race, race. Events will probably be business up front, party in the back... They will be better supported, more people will be aware of them and will probably inspire from people to ride.

A few quick questions for you.
Do you bikepack? If so, when did you start and do you actually do it in remote areas?
How long have you been aware of the Tour Divide or any of the major bike packing events?
Have you ever done a multiday event?
Do you know anyone who has?
Had you ever read the rules governing the race before I provided a link to them?
Ever read any of the discussions over the years at bikepacking.net* about the spirit and ethics of unsupported multiday racing?

I ask because your comments strike me as coming from someone who wants to be entertained but is new to the sport and not part of the community. In other words you have strong opinions but lack an understanding of the history of the sport and the ethics of a large part of the adventure racing community that participates in backcountry multiday racing.

* I'm not on Facebook so I haven't seen any of the posts concerning this years film.
