AXS, any issues from your experience?
Looking at a 1X12 MTB drivetrain for my gravel bike. AXS looks easy peasy to set up, and the gear range is perfect (500%). My concern is being out in Hushpuckany and the shifter decides not to communicate and I'm 20 miles from alternate forms of transportation. Experience?

Well, I don't have any experience with AXS, but been on the original etap for 3 years. Probably 8k per year on that bike. Worked like a charm. No issues ever. Every time I forgot to charge it for awhile and got a warning on my Garmin of low battery, always had plenty of charge to finish my ride.
Can't see any reason why AXS would be a step backwards from original etap. |

What's wrong with what you have now?

Been using eTap for going on three years now and the most recent Red eTap AXS road group since April.
Zero on bike issues. The firmware update can be a little persnickety, but that's not an on-bike problem. |

I have xx1 Eagle axs and have probably 8 good rides on it. No complaints so far.

LOL Weisan...
Let's see another photo of you shop/garage again! Actually I'm getting tired of moving those nasty brifters all the way in. Takes the fun out of riding!

You know he lost some weight and is very happy. I agree with what you are saying. Iâm getting axs on my next mountain bike bc I tired of shifting going out of tune. The idea of having to same components on my MTB and other bikes is very appealing to me too. Is that enough to warrant a change?

I want to switch the OPEN to AXS. Both my other bikes are ETAP OG and I really like it. I want to do the 10-50 cassette in the back with the road shifters. Maybe an upgrade for next year.
Etap is tried and true, works great, its a treat to install, works flawlessly and amazing if you have to travel with your bike. |

Looking at SRAM website and came across this, thought it was kinda funny:
âWe hear your protests, âYou canât have a short business haircut with a fade on the sides and at the same time have a long waterfall of flowing locks in back and have people take you seriously.â To which we say, âYou are correct. Thatâs exactly what we were going for.â So when you want to do something thatâs both a little bit country and simultaneously a little bit rock and roll, we recommend combining a pair of AXS drop bar levers with an Eagle AXS rear derailleur, Eagle chain, 10-50t Eagle cassette, and your choice of either an Eagle or road AXS 1x crankset to build the raddest drop bar bike on the block. Thatâs right. Business up front and party in back. Ride it with pride.â |

I'm too cheap and too old for big buck groupsets and high buck frames. I notice that you can get a Trek with AXS that costs $12K.
I've got $3K into my new Colnago with Chorus 12. I will try a Force AXS chain in the future. I have to leave some money for the new C8. |
