Most of the time I use Heed or Skratch, as both seem to work for me.

On long rides, I like to start with 6 scoops of Caffe Latte Perpetuem in one bottle, plain water in the other. If the weather is cool or ice is easily available (e.g supported double centuries), I can continue using Perpetuem, but I can't stand it if it gets warm. So usually just plain water mid day in warm weather.

Rarely ride more than 60 miles lately and don't even bring a bottle but if I do bring a drink, it is EFS-PRO or my own brew.

Seriously? You don't rehydrate in 60 miles? Even in moderate weather, I'll down at least a couple of large bottles in that time.

Stop for tea halfway. I don't need much water in temperate conditions. I check body weight before and after. Not a problem.

For me it is water of Skratch (pineapple). I usually only bring Skratch if I think I'm actually going to drink a full bottle. I do tend to drink more if I have Skratch since it tastes better to me than plain water.

Water for rides less than 30 miles with not a lot of climbing. For longer rides I'm in the Scratch camp and I also have some Cytomax too. Both work great and are easy on my stomach. I don't get on well with Nuun or Accelerate.

Salt is sodium chloride; in general, you don’t want a lot of added chloride in your body. One bottle won’t have negative effects, but I wouldn’t do this on a hot day when you’re consuming lots of fluids. Most mixes are made with sodium citrate or something like that to avoid issues with chlorides.

I'm sensitive to much of the commercial stuff. I'm also a cheap b. Heed was fine and so was scratch. Now I make my own. True Lemon is for backups on long rides. First two bottles get fresh lemon or lime.
1/2 lemon 1T sugar 2T maltodextrin 1/8t salt If I remember right, that's 150 Calories and it is clean tasting not sugary. |

My home brew is 2/3 highly branched citric Dextrin to 1/3 maltodextrose, sea salt, BCAA, d-Ribose, and Beta Alanine. Sometimes a touch of lemon flavoring.
For magnesium and calcium, my DS has me skip the fancy tea stop and get a chocolate milk and bag of potat chips. |

Osmo....works great for hydration and I like the light taste. For really hot days or hard rides I will use their preload. Not so light taste, but it works.

Indeed. The Osmo Preload is fantastic on stinking hot days.
