Time ATAC XC8 Pedal Click
I've been running a set of Time ATAC XC8 pedals on my bike for about 5000 miles or so. Mainly a mix of road and gravel. Purchased new.
Over the last few months I've noticed clicking while pedaling specifically on the down stroke. I feel it most during climbing, but can be felt while putting down power or even just putting around. I initially thought it was from the pedal, so I swapped in a much lower mileage Time XC4 and put the XC8 on my other bike. The clicking followed the pedal. There's some play on the shaft to the pedal, but didn't seem like much compared to the "good" XC4 pedals. My cleats have a fair amount of use on them, but not overly worn. Any ideas? Do these need to be rebuilt? And if so, how? Last edited by scoobydrew; 03-24-2023 at 03:32 PM. |

Check your shoe, do you have a metal protective plate for the sole under the cleat, I have had issues with these. Also maybe your cleat is just worn as you note. If you have different shoes try swapping them also.

Are you sure it’s the pedals and not the BB?

Oops I edited my original post to say the clicking followed the pedal, not the bike as originally stated. |

im not sure about the issue here but in the case they need to be rebuilt or serviced, you can send them to SRAM
the last time I sent them two pedals they just completely replaced them but this was really recently after Time was acquired. they were still setting up their Time dept. I'm not sure what the process is now but they are helpful in any case |
