TRP Euro X/ AVID Shorty Ultimate straddle cable

Anyone have a good source for a single ended straddle cable that will work with TRP Euro X or Avid Shorty adjustable cantilever brakes?

I've had some difficulty in finding a direct replacement.

Massaging a standard road bike brake cable works, but...

I usually take a standard road brake cable and reduce the diameter to fit. Using a file lying on a bench horizontally and running the head over it works well. The other method is a bench grinder. A lot of mechanics now are using 1x30" belt sanders for this kind of modifying.

There are straddle cables available but most have a mountain bike style head.

shift cable with a shimano head snugs into the barrel adjuster. its a smaller gauge (weightweenie) but you wont snap it under load while braking.
