Rock Lobster World Cup CX

I spent the last few years racing a Ritchey Swiss Cross and decided last year to get in line for something a little different. I put a deposit down at the beginning of April 2022 and got the call in March. All I had to communicate was that I wanted Di2 only, lower bb than the Ritchey, and shorter chainstays.

The build:
-mix of Ultegra di2, Grx, and Xt/Xtr drivetrain. 42t up front, 11-40 in the back.
-Alpinist post, Fabric Scoop Flat saddle, Ritchey WCS stem, and 38cm FSA carbon bars
-Zipp 303S with 40mm Michelin tires. This will run tubulars for cross season.

You'll love it! From the looks of it, the sizing looks very close to mine. What color will it be?

Not sure if it was just my frame but just a heads up, if you're planning to run 11-speed Di2 and stuff your junction box B in your downtube or seat tube, routing both the E-tube and brake hose through the downtube ports will be a little tight.

Seafoam! With the older style black and yellow decals. I'm leaving the fork raw.

It will be 11s di2. Tbh I hadn't given much thought into the b junction placement. I figured I'd just do it in the seat tube above the bb. I believe there will be separate di2 routing holes that are not in current pictures, based on how I've seen other frames of his.

A seafoam Rock Lobster always looks so darn good. Can't wait to see this beauty built up!

I asked for a set of decals on the back of the seat tube and am extremely pleased how they came out. I should have this built late next week.

the black walnut slab market must be doing great! Paul's aluminum welds are so tidy, it's truly impressive

Great color on that frame! I still have fever dreams about a Rock Lobster that I passed up on buying that ended up going for a song on CL.

Joe, great looking frameset - as is always the case with Paul Sadoff. I also had a Rock Lobster road bike, but my pare-down compulsions told me that I didn't need 4 road bikes and so I sold the Lobster. I only have road bikes and I still have a steel Kirk JKS, a steel Alliance by Erik Rolf, and an aluminum Zank. However, I am now in the queue for a Nate Zukas aluminum road frame, so here we go again. Maybe I need to reassess my compulsions and priorities!

Interested in that drivetrain—XT/Ultegra: anything special to make it work smoothly?

It's Di2, you can mix road levers with an mtb derailleur/cassette. Nothing special needed.
