Sheesh that is a looker. Cant wait to hear your review! I'm always kicking myself for not buying the one Brendan Quirk posted here a few years back.

Looks great!
So, I may have missed it, but is there any surface treatment, clear coat? My initial thinking was you probably got this faster than a painted Kirk because you skipped Joe Bell's lead time, but maybe it went to his shop anyway to get clear shot? Excited to see how you build 'er up!

Hi Angry,
No surface treatment or clear coat, just clean it occasionally with Barkeepers Friend. Dave adds a coat of anticorrosion like Framesaver internally but that's it. Build will be Sram AXS with Grand Cru midreach brakes. Still working on the little bits and wheels. Frame is built to optimize 28-30mm tires but will clear a 32. Quote:

Good good choices … a 28 is a great size for everyday road, a 32 is a great size for mixed road.

Commensurate IMO sorta. In that 220 lb rider on a 61CM machine the 32mm IMO for everyday road. And some tires so good these days too. I used to max out at 27s until recent years as the tire got so good.

Finally built (with a few stand-in parts - seatpost and pedals). I’m liking the way it came out, now I just need to ride it!

Wow. I think there are many reasons to buy a custom metal frame and this proves that beauty is one of them. Just a beautiful bike.

Beautiful, Greg!
Just curious: why no head badge? |

This is gorgeous, everything you "need" in a bike. I love how clean it is with eTap and the brushed stainless.
Looks like you'll be busy with lots of new rides in 2023 ![]() |

that was a tough one as i love Dave's headbadge but I also love Dave's concept of "Onesto" - honest, unadorned and decided that the headbadge would be guilding the lily a bit. That's also why the build is just black components with very minimal decals etc - I didn't want anything that takes undue attention off the frame itself.
