Yeah, they make it in aluminum, carbon and steel. This is the steel one. I was expecting it to look pretty good when I ordered it, and it looks better than I was expecting.

LiteSpeed Blue Ridge

Gravel (re)build. This bike has been kicking around my stable for quite a while, did the D2RR with it a number of years ago. Hasn't seen much love recently, so I swapped the old canti brakes off in favor of a set of TRP CX8.4 Vbrakes and replaced the Winwood fork with an Alpha Q.

Otherwise, it's standard Campy Record 10 Compact, with a Phil Wood bottom bracket.

I'll get some seat time on it in the next couple of days...

[Edit] Seat time gotten, a couple of 10 mile trail/gravel rides with a bit of light singletrack mixed in. It's so much better with the Alpha Q fork. Rides pretty nicely. I think it's a keeper.

Now I need to finish the build on my Prestige CX and decide if I'm going to keep that too...

Hey that's taken right by my mother in law's place. Love the riding out there and usually do Mt Riga once a year or so. One year did it on 23's with an 11-25 and an aluminum bike. Wouldn't recommend that.

About $500 to $2000, depending.

Bike pack set up. The angle is misleading, front bag has 1.5 inch of clearance above tire

Not totally sure, probably about 15 pounds. Sleep set up in front, ~2 liters of water, some extra clothes, a few days of food (mostly bars and freeze dried) and a jet boil.

New bike day- Specialized Carbon Comp

According to my LBS, Fairwheel Bikes in Tucson, I was lucky to get my order in when I did as there won't be any 2021 Diverges available for a while. I've done two rides on the Diverge and I'm pretty impressed. Not sure if it's the Future Shock, the flexible seat post or the 38mm tires, but the ride is very smooth.
I've played around a bit with the Future Shock, dialing it from firm to soft. The difference is quite noticeable. I sense a little bobbing when standing while in the soft setting, but for relaxed efforts none at all. According to Specialized, the firm setting does not lock out the suspension effect, but for all practical purposes, it does.
Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the Future Shock. It does what it's supposed to without being intrusive. Typical road imperfections, (cracks, small potholes and chip seal,) never get to my hands. I can only tell it's moving by seeing the rubber boot flex.
While the bike isn't especially light, 22 pounds for my size 56 frame (with pedals and cages,) it doesn't ride heavy. Step on the pedals and it goes.
I've yet to get it on any serious gravel, that will likely wait until I get to Oregon later this summer, but on pavement, it rides like a really nice road bike.
GRX 2x is Shimano, quick shifting and quiet. I really like the shift levers. Hard braking, with only one or two fingers is very easy to do from the hoods and the wide platform of the brake lever is very comfortable.
Coming from my usual rides, (custom Hampstens in steel and carbon,) I wasn't sure what to expect from a Big 3 bike. After 75 miles, I think Specialized has done a really nice job with the Diverge.
