New fork day, experimenting with rake/trail on this bike. I always prefer the look of a curved blade.

That front end is simply gorgeous. Polished fork crown and lugs, curved fork blades, and that stem to top it off?! 10/10.
(Now I wish I'd jumped on one of your framebuilding courses before life got more complicated.) |

Finally found some time in between what seems like a million repaints and retromods/repairs to start on the next commission. Not unlike the last in style, big tires, fenders, racks, discs, though this will be a level top tube with stainless lugs. This Rene Herse BB has a lot of meet on it which makes it great for taking material away. Today I worked to get it to look like the Sachs lugs that will make up the front triangle.

Change of plans on the lugs set, switched to a more traditional shape so I reshaped the bottom bracket. The low BB with the tall fork makes the seat tube and down tube angle a bit challenging so I had to cut the bb lug to tighten up the angle then fillet braze it to be ready for tubes. This bike has big clearance, 650x48 with fenders of 700x48 without. The customer is a local custom headbadge maker and he is working on something special for me to braze to this.

As I await a shipment of parts I began the next bike in the queue, an all stainless steel gravel grinder. Tubes have been mitered and heavy modification has been done to the Llewellyn lugs. The cast sti stops are always a bit chunky on the down tube lug, so some careful filing has created a nice shape.

Will this latest be rim brake or disc? I had to go back and check out that Prehistoric(2 pages back), with the TRP 957s and cool paint--so nice.

Yeah, so I’m going to need:
A frameset like post #495 A stem like post #478 A fade paint job like post #488 Make the geometry match my old colnago. I can add the chorus 12 and shiny silver bits. Great work! |

I like all these things, including Colnago geometry! Thanks for the compliment.
