Looking for silent YouTube training videos

I've managed to pull together a bunch of stuff I had lying around and put together a training set-up for my basement. So far it's cost me $35 for an HDMI cable and I'm looking to keep it to that, so no Zwift subscription for me.

But more importantly, I like riding in real, not fictional places, so I'm looking for silent training videos on YouTube or other free online platform that don't have an instructor yelling at me. Just real rides from real places and I put on some of my fave music. Also not looking for a screen cluttered with displays and graphics. Maybe just a % grade scale so I can know when to change effort.

Here's one I like from the "Bike The World" series . . .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bw5NRpCTSd4

Anybody have any other favorites? Thanks . . .

Not really training, but Terry B’s channel is a fun one to mix things up

Another one

I really like the CTXC videos - on youtube also. These are POV from paceline/hammerfest rides in Australia. You can turn the music down (as I do) and just follow the screen prompts to pick it up and make the appropriate changes to your resistance/watt setting. A nice way to mix it up, and free!

Rouvy is similar to FulGaz. Both of them are monthly subscriptions but offer more than YouTube. FulGaz has an Apple TV app which makes using it with a smart trainer super easy. Really it is a game changer for people who train indoors.

Disclaimer I pay zwift year round. It works for me and my family. I can “ride” anytime I want anyway I want. It was different before kids but life overall is better now.

I don't have any insight other than you made me want to be able to train in Middle Earth. I could follow the Hobbits to Mt. Doom. There's even a big mountain stage on Caradhras (even if it's an out and back).

You wear gloves indoors?

I mean, on one hand I get it. It really isn't much different than outdoor. But I am not much of an outdoor glove guy either so it never crossed my mind that someone might do that.

Lots of videos here:

Mute their music, or not. There's usually an option to have the graphic overlays turned off. Strava and Kinomap info. Free!

Maybe not Middle Earth, but I think a Tour de Skyrim would be pretty great.

Stupid question, but why does it have to be a silent video? Can't the sound be turned down on just about any video out there?

Check out the Fulgaz website. You can view all their rides, full length for free. You won't have any power / training associated with it, and they are lower resolution, but you can cycle the world.

. . . and I feel pretty stupid!

I found a vid with sound and turned it down in YouTube, then booted up my iTunes and that volume is independent from the one in the YouTube replay window. So I can run both off my laptop while riding.

Now you can see why I look for a great mechanic to maintain my bikes rather than doing it all myself!

Thanks!

Bike the World

Hey BBD,
Here's a Youtube channel with just straight up cycling videos. They are pretty nice to watch on a trainer, but no interface with the trainer. We've enjoyed them.

Yes!

This is the one I found already. They have a pretty good selection–enough to keep me busy for a while.

Thanks for sharing this one! I've been enjoying a few of these while on the trainer the past couple of days. It makes the time seem a lot less boring.
