Never saw the corkscrews, but here's my 58.1 mm tamper. He told me that first batch was made from shells that were headed for the bin, after he changed the design, so it really is a repurposed bike part.

There's an artist named Ricardo Flores-Ortiz who produces tchotchkes under the name "Ricky's Metal Creations", he's a member of the Southern Arizona Arts Guild, and while a lot of his stuff I would probably consider a bit too trivial-bordering-on-treacly he has this wonderful ability to suggest endearing animals with remarkably few parts. He has a whole series of desert wildlife -- scorpions, snakes, geckos, mice, roadrunners, javalinas -- executed in bicycle parts, and some of them are literally just three components (e.g., a few chain links, a small cog, and a jockey wheel) but it looks like the cutest little garden slug you've ever seen! I'm trying to find pics online but he seems to have very little web presence.

Very nice.
Now you have to figure out how to put an Art of Shaving soap puck in a cut-off water bottle. |

How about the reverse...something repurposed as a bike 'part'.

Hey. Check this guy out. He is a former co-worker of mine from a busy service department. He is a great mechanic and a great machinist!

Genius. Pure, unadulterated genius.
And Post of the Day.
