OK. Thanks for the response. I'm trying to see an angle on why someone would go with Ti and that makes sense.

My carbon post questions will be best served in another thread. Don't want to derail this any more than I have.

Pics are attached of the Sumo. I really like it. The clamp has been solid for me. The finish is a nice brushed with bead blasted graphics. So it matches a ton of the bikes I make. Not stupid light or heavy. Just a really nice Made in the UK post.

I don't know about this. I just spoke to Marina the other day and get emails from them all the time. Where'd you hear this from?

Not to discount your experience, but I believe I had a similar issue. I called Mr. Bold himself and he helped me resolve it. I can't remember what the cause or the fix were, but it might have been as simple as cleaning the clamp out.

I called him as well and he sent me a new clamp. Did not truly help. Sold it with the bike it was on

CicliCorsa are very good, but their relationship with PMP/WR/DHC/and many other smaller Northern Italy component manufacturers is the same as any other distributor, in that those companies all produce smaller quantities, and so many of the orders client > CC/vendor >PMP/producer are Just-In-Time. They are very fast that way, very flexible, and can customize easier. None of those companies are Deda/3T/Cinelli scale at all.

That is incorrect.
Noxon bought PMP 2-3 years ago, and as a result PMP refocused primarily on mtb and so reduced their old catalogue by a fair amount, but they still certainly still exist.

They are branded Noxon-PMP now, producing wheels, wheels accessories, and seatposts only. I already had posted a link (pmpbike.it) on the previous pages.

It and the Thomson setback are two of the most unattractive seatposts ever.

I have a Bold and would definitely recommend. Put a little friction paste at the pivots before tightening everything up and it won't slip. Same with a lot of clamps with that design (Specialized that came on my Tarmac, older Enve post, Zipp).

Any update on the pmp?
I have been thinking about contacting sales guy and also looking at the USE sumo (though I've read about failures ...)
The ti pmp is really a looker and i can't see how the clamp would have problems unless the bond failed ...

Howdy.

PMP is still making posts. They just aren't advertising it. Long story as to why. I still get PMP posts all the time. Here's a pic of a 27.2 x 250mm post(black head) and a 31.6 x 350mm post(silver head). Pretty sure I still have the 31.6mm one in the picture. I'd have to look later.

But yes, I still offer PMP posts as well as the USE Sumo posts.

Regarding the USE Posts. I have never heard of any titanium Sumo posts failing but I have heard of the alloy Alien and Sumo versions cracking. They are super thin and very lightweight.
