FWIW.....I have awesome straps (which is essentially same thing as whats pictured) and I wrapped mine with some GLAD 'clingwrap' and it helps keep everything together, keeps off the grime, AND is easily accessible in race situation and you don't have to worry about saving it or losing it if you're in hurry to change tube.

Little bag under the seat...one tube, two tire levers and the co2 thingy with a cartridge inside...no phone as I don't have one...I have always gotten home just fine that way for 30 years.

Gack! I forgot about that. For awhile I also used a SILCA strap and put my tube/co2 in a ziplock bag, cinched up under the seat's frame rails. Worked like a charm and kept everything clean.
