As long as ISIS bottom brackets don't make a comeback, we can call it a win!

Any excuse for an attempt at bashing beloved Campy’s competitors.

and lets be honest here, and as a huge campy fan, the 12 speed campy crank is probably the ugliest "new" crankset out on the market right now. I actually liked the 4 arm and then campy did something that seems small but made it aweful looking. But not to worry, shimano still came out the ugliest levers known to man, GRX.... They competed against another one of their products, the RS505 levers. Sram also wanted to play so they release AXS which is not aweful BUT 11 speed etap was so nice that they had to make it worst looking.

The GRX levers feel great in your hand though - excellent ergonomics and feel around the levers.

I too don't see the comparison OP was trying to make. The new GRX stuff is utilitarian and works great. Is what it is.

Yeah if you think GRX levers are ugly, you haven't used them. The lower pivot is fantastic and the ergos are perfect for offroad. Beauty is in the eye of the STIholder? But worse than the 505s?? Not possible

I will put the 505s as worst looking levers of the past 10 years and I will slide the GRX down 1 spot. I have not used them and probably will not considering I am not in needs of any bike crap for a while and if I was to get a new gravel group would be AXS. I know they are great, everyone talks about it and I bet they are but they are still hideous. For the record I think GRX was a good move on shimanos part but the 1x system should have had a 10 speed cog which is much needed when your big ring is a 40T but those are tales for another thread.

See, and I think the ugly came on with the 4 arm first gens.

Yup, 5-arm forever.... (maybe a T-shirt?) Still putting with the H11 hydro group.

And no comments on the Q-rings, pls. My knees like them.

I think the 4 arm has its place, it looks good on a certain kind of bike also its a superior crank to the 5 arm since you can run compact or standard. That said, I have a 5 arm on my campy bike and sold the 4 arm that was there and matches group vintage because I too like the 5 arm better.
