1972 schwinn paramount track

low flange campy record hubs laced to mavic ssc tubulars, 175mm campy bmx cranks, record road pedals, binda straps with campy buttons, ofmega pista headset, 135mm 3ttt stem and some porteur bars with a wald basket and im making beer runs in record time.

to be honest, this bike is kind of a mystery. the original owner told me he got it from some shop in summerland, and the person he got it from said it was originally owned by rory oreilly.. rory was fast guy from santa barbara so i guess it makes sense. i know that rory was a fan of those two speed kilo setups and browning transmissions and this frame has got a nasty chunk of flux hanging off the driveside dropout, so maybe it had a der hanger at one point? it was sawed off and repainted before it fell into my hands. everyone says its a schwinn based on the fork and the lugs, but i really have no idea. its drilled for brakes front and rear, and theres a good bit of clearance between the tire and crown, like it might have been made for 27" wheels instead of 700c? theres also a columbus dove stamped on the steertube of the fork. and the nondrive dropout is stamped with something that looks like "e7225" so if it is a schwinn then it would have been the 25th frame made in may of 1972?
whatever it is, im never getting rid of it.

I like the flat blue with the decal/logo on the top of the DT. Very clean look.

If the pedal cages are black, I believe those are Super Record, not Record, pedals. Records had chrome-plated steel cages. The black is anodized Al.

Rory O'Reilly can be hunted down through Facebook, if you wanted to.

But if the frame's been repainted, getting him to ID it might be hard. That said, he was devoted to his equipment. So who knows...

ive blown up rorys kids spot on instagram but thats it. i got no response. i dont have a facebook.
i only assume its been repainted because there are no decals. but someone posted a paramount road bike on here somewhere that has what looks like the same shade of blue as this one. so maybe thats the original color? its ratty but i dont mind it at all.
