This is one of the strangest threads I've read on PL. And it's got some serious competition

Same here, she know me and I know her and we have developed trust over the last 40 years. Seems to me if the first place you go to is accusing the OP of lying or hiding something that says more about you than the OP

This, uh, isn't the greatest look either.

Weird thread. Needs Johnny Cash for illustration of the general idea.

Yeah. I still don't get the point of the thread. Maybe my brain is refusing to comprehend for its own safety...

Meh.. people automatically go to "guy with a bike buying problem hiding it from his wife" cause it's such a super common malady mentioned on these forums... really all forums for all male-dominated hobbies. A significant portion of the forum members on any bike/gun/camera/musical instrument/car/boat/watch forum are in it for buying the stuff rather than using it.

I don't have to worry about this cause I prefer to ride a bike over buying bike(s) at all costs. My issue is when my wife gets pissed cause I ride too long when we're super busy.

Especially when you were only going for a "Short ride".

Not trying to throw women under the bus here cause I’m sure it’s the other way around sometimes but I think all non cycling spouses expect all rides should be shorter. A “long cardio workout” for anyone except a cyclist/triathlete/marathoner is like 20 minutes AFAICT!

It is imperative that everyone’s thoughts and actions be monitored for correctness. Those who wrongthink should be sent for re-education.
