New battery for my favorite American bike. The old one totally died last Saturday, leaving me to ride home in one gear. The old battery lasted me about five years and I got the bike used. Also got a longer wire so the battery is no longer sitting on top of the BB.

Just picked up an S-Works Sl6 Tarmac disc for my first dive into disc brakes. Didn't like the color, but the deal was too good to pass up, so first things first, off to the paint shop.

A pair of Fizik Artica R5s for the rainy season. So far they do not disappoint. It took a couple of rides to break them in, the ankles were very stiff, but now they're super comfortable and handle the rain quite well.

bought these as the leaves have almost all fallen. It should snow at some stage this month and I pulled out the snow tires for the cars yesterday to check.

Cycling I used to use spiked tires but in the daytime when the ice was melted they were noisy and very slow. Lets hope they fit under my fenders. Should do.

Been riding with 100% speedcrafts for SO long. Still love them, but I have been bitten hard by these Oakley Sutro! I painted the silver Oakley Logo's on the arm black last night.

A track chain whip and cross tool from abbey. Wish I could have waited for sale but really needed the chain whip.

Eliel socks and bib shorts. Unfortunately have to exchange bibs as they are huge. Figured by fit of Jersey and my height needed a xxl. They are a true xxl. Likely dropping all the way down to a large.

Next up will be new tires for the SV. Sick of the PITA tires on it now. Impossible to get the seated with a tube without lots of force, soap, water and luck. Cheaper to replace 2 tires then get a wheel rebuilt.

I know this is a bit counter-intuitive but if you would humor me a bit, please....

First off, I didn't purchase anything at my local bike shop today but I managed to accomplish something that actually brought just as much, if not more, satisfaction as if I did.

I made a deal with a 78-year-old mountain biker who has his eyes on a brand new KUAT 4-bike hitch rack that he wanted to load up all the bikes and hit the trails with his grandkids.

The rack was going at 20% off because of the Black Friday Sale, which brings it a bit over $1k. So I made an offer to him for my store gift card that has a value of $1,100 for $900 and he accepted it readily. Win-Win!!!

I am just happy to offload the store credit in return for cash. I honestly don't need or want any bike-related stuff right this moment despite all the sales that are going on. I have everything and I say it, not with an air of arrogance, but as if I am making a confession to a priest.

To celebrate the success, I went down a block from the store and hit the trails on my gravel bike even though it was all gloomy and rainy, and had 20 miles of pure wet fun!

Hope you enjoy your new bike rack and riding with your grandkids, George pal!
