Merlin the magician
I was so impressed by this yesterday I had to post.
Ordered something from Merlin in the UK at 10pm (edt) on Sunday night. Delivered to my door via DHL Tuesday morning! This was a small part and I was hesitant to order from the UK with global issues right now but I wasn’t in a hurry so I went ahead. Amazing I say! Just a positive report this morning.

Did you pay for the slow or fast shipping?
My order as usual is hung up in Canada customs. It left Spain on the 13th. Last year customs was taking 4 weeks to clear stuff. |

not quite as fast but I ordered a campy athena long cage RD twice from taiwan (some guy had a bunch and I picked one up and had to pick the last one up a month later) and the derailleur was here within a week. This was when USPS was slammed so I got those before ordering something that came from Florida.
International shipping is fast nowadays. |

Yep, I've ordered a ton of stuff from Merlin over the years. Seems to take around 3 or 4 days to reach me in Utah. Heck it's faster than even Amazon Prime anymore.
Bikewagon and Backcountry are two U.S. sources I used a fair amount too and they are only about 50 miles at most from my house. But they can't get bike parts to me as fast as Merlin normally does. Makes you wonder.... |

Wow, that is fast. For me stuff from the British shops always pops right over, but the German stuff always gets hung up in customs.
Domestically, I’ve been shopping at Universal Cycles a lot recently. Portland based but they have a warehouse in Pennsylvania, so I get stuff from them in 2-3 days. |

In case this helps plan ordering in the future..., Crazy. I just had two separate orders from Competitive Cyclist in US come to me in Quebec (when you order something and realize the next day after it was shipped that you also need something else...ugh) Both orders took a week from order to delivery but the holdup in customs was only two days each. They both entered Canada in Vancouver but it took Canada Post five days to get it to QC from BC even though it was “international express mail “. Wondering if East side of the country CBSA or UPS/DHL//FedEx is the issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not sure of the origin, Thought it was European but...
I ordered from Chain Reaction Cycles on the 12th and received on the 15th. Handlebars and other things in the order. Ride safe, BamBam |

Chain reaction is always fast - I ordered things on March 24, and looking at my emails, they arrived on the March 28th. This seems typical with them.

Great to hear!
My wife orders clothes (frequently) from the UK and very similar experiences with DHL - shocking how fast her stuff arrives, usually 2 or 3 days. I received some car parts similarly fast, also with DHL. |

Looks like Merlin is shipping Shimano components to the US. I thought Shimano stopped shipments from the UK. Can anyone confirm?

Merlin is great. My last 4 orders have shipped for free being over $400. Shocking how fast the stuff show up that is for sure.
I am not sure if it is the exchange rate or what but it seems like their prices have been creeping up a bit. |
