Cleaning cycling caps?

I am wondering how do you clean your cycling caps without messing up the brim?.
Can you do it in the washing machine on the hand wash cycle, or do you wash it by hand gently?
Any tips?

I wash them in lukewarm water in the sink with a drop of Ivory Snow.

i throw mine in the washing machine with the rest of my kit on the handwash cycle.

there's no way i, or anyone in my house has time to handwash anything. with three little kids running round, rolling in the mud literally, the washing machine barely gets a break around here, haha.

seriously though, i wear a cycling cap 100% of rides and have not noticed any real issues with washing my caps in the machine.

I hand wash with a tooth brush to get rid of the ring of dirt.
For the white ones that have some harder staining, I soak overnight in Oxyclean.

The washing machine tends to bend the brim if put in with other stuff.

I hand wash them when I'm taking a shower with normal soap, then hang to dry.

Throw away!

Short answer is that you throw them away.
Cycling caps look best when they are crisp- they look terrible when they are worn.
Also- they tend to shrink and get funky when you wash them.

Treat yourself to a new one!

I use both of these ideologies. If it makes it to the shower wtih me, it gets washed and rinsed and hung to dry. Otherwise it just goes in the washing machine with the rest of the kits.

I wash them very regularly and almost every ride. hand wash, shower and machine all depends.

Never in the dryer.

I throw mine in the washer with my kit on regular cycle. I don’t wash caps after every ride though.

I recently noticed a loose thread on the brim of a Walz cap and saw that the tag said hand wash only so I’ll be more careful with those in the future.

Washing machine on delicate, cold water, hang dry for me.

Seriously? I like nice cycling kit and don't mind spending for it, and one of the benefits is that such kit tends to wear well and last. Discard a cap just because it doesn't "look crisp"? Strikes me as wasteful and irresponsible.
