POC Omni & Ventral Air Spin Helmets

I have an Omni Air Spin and really like it but could use a second helmet.

Anybody ride both?

I have the POC Ventral spin and had a Ventral air spin prior. Both keep your head really cool but in the heat.

The interior padding is comfy and if you sweat a lot, you can throw in the washer or hand wash.

The only con is the straps near the ear are not adjustable like other brands so the strap might hug your ear a little bit.

I have an Omne Air Spin as my winter/cool weather helmet, and the having tried on the Ventral I found:

-It's significantly cooler
-Helmet padding a little thinner, so depending on your head shape it might not have as much adjustability as the Omne
-Straps sit a tiny bit lower than the Omne - on the Omne the straps push my ear lobes a bit, while on the Ventral they sit right below the lobes

Other than that the Ventral is very, very nice. Poc used to favor very round heads, but has now gotten a bit more ovalish with the newer models.

You prefer the padding of the non Spin helmet?

Sorry, should have clarified - it was the Ventral Air Spin. Didn't see the benefit of the Ventral Spin vs the Ventral Air Spin, especially since the Ventral Spin is hotter, heavier and costs more.

I wear a cap on every ride. Any issues with fit on the Ventral....I find the fit of the Omni very good with a cap.

their naming conventions confuse me a bit, but i'm 90ish percent certain i have the ventral air spin.

i too wear a cap 100% of the time and this helmet works well for that.

Have not tried the Omni but I am currently using the Ventral Air Spin. Love the shape, works well with cycling caps, very well ventilated (Singapore is humid and bloody hot!) and lightweight!

Don't they have a newer Ventral Air Spin Lite now?
