Yeah they seem to have removed a third of the shell material but I'll stick to a full shell I think.

Also another thing to note on the Ventral Lite - it doesn't have SPIN aka Mips-style slip plane padding.

Good point, even if I don't know if it really does anything or not but it doesn't hurt.

Is it hard to fit third party sunglasses with the Ventral and Omni like it is on the Octal? I like how the Octal fits my head, and would like to try some of the brand’s other offerings, but hate how I have to smash my Oakleys in there.

I wear Oakley Radar EV and inserted upside down in my omni is no problem at all.
