Issue With Shimano DuraAce ST-7900

hello all,

I'll try to be as descriptive as possible.

this morning I was riding and when trying to shift from the small ring to the big chainring, I felt a large amount of pressure was necessary. I powered through (maybe like an idiot) and it shifted onto the large chainring.

when trying to downshift now, it doesn't seem to snap back into the small chainring. there is still tension on the cable, and the nipple isn't snapped. there is a tiny torx screw that holds a plastic cover that came loose. upon opening, it 2 spring seem to have snapped out of there original positions and now I'm not sure where they go...

I've attached some photographs.

is this salvageable or will I need new shifters in peoples opinions??

many thanks!!

I would start by loosening the pinch bolt at the front derailer, should be easier to diagnose at that point.

If yours are toast, I have 7900 shifters I am not using that I would sell for a very reasonable price. Hope yours are repairable but if not PM me.

Releases all tension.
Take the cable out.
Maybe the cable is frayed and about to go?
