What fork for my Lynskey?

Thinking about increasing the carrying capacity on my Lynskey after last weekend's Swift Campout.

What options are there if I might want...

Rack mounts

3x water bottle mounts

Tapered steerer

15mm (or 12mm) thru-axle

Disc brake mount (obviously)

Is there a carbon fork for me?

Or steel fork currently available?

I might even consider having a steel fork made...is a tapered steerer an option from any builders?

Thanks for any info...

What is the A-C and rake of the fork your frame was designed around? This is important info.

Having a steel fork made to fit your application could be a good choice. In your case, though, I speculate there is no advantage to a steel tapered steerer. You can use a straight 1 1/8" steerer on a tapered or 44mm headtube with the appropriate headset. Note that a steel fork for this application could easily weigh 2 pounds more than a fully carbon option. Weight isn't everything, but this is not an insignificant difference.

If your frame was built around a 395-400mm A-C fork and you're happy with the current handling then, yeah, the Rodeo Labs Spork offers some great features. Sleek and attractive even compared to other carbon forks of similar dimensions? Well. . .that's subjective.

OK so probably not willing to take the weight penalty (or the aesthetics of a straight steerer) of a steel fork, as I am looking to stay on the lighter side or else I might as well just stick with the Ahearne.

Spork looks pretty nice...will have to check specs on current fork to compare...

Would also get me out of the funky, non replaceable Lynskey thru-axle (15mm with 2.0 thread pitch nobody makes one)...so there's that, too.

Wondering why the Spork doesn't have the triple mount.

Anyone know if they have plans to add this?

Also, just took a look at the Sparta FCR All Road Full Carbon Fork.

That looks nice, too.

I like the internal routing for the dynamo as well.

Any more info here?

Also just had a look at the Bombtrack EXT Carbon Gravel Fork, as well as their steel option.

It’s not necessary for Anything cages. How did you plan to use the mounts?

I have Oveja Negra fork bags that mount directly to the three threaded inserts.

Currently using Bar-Yak mounts on the original Lynskey fork.

It might be easier to buy a used touring bike or something similar to ride when you need to carry a heavy load.

I'd check in with Earl glazer cycle. He made my Columbus max fork for a v reasonable price. Met up with him just before I left Memphis and he just got a new fork building jig!

That's only a 2L bag. Hard to believe you can't get by with just two of the three mounting points.

I've never seen those. You have to mount the bag before you fill it?
