Choke’s pics capture the ride quite well.
I’ve ridden fixie most years, flip flop once and downtube gears once. I like the vibe, but would like to see a loosening of the bike preferences. This ride appeals to an aging ridership, but the requirements haven’t changed in 17 yrs, excepting last years old mtb theme. I’m signed up, but uncertain what I’ll be riding. so are you really angry?

Should I be on the lookout for some angry scientist from the other coast? If so, look for the guy dressed like Bumble Bee Dave. Hope the ride is a go. I'm doing what I can to encourage the ride to loosen up it's classic definition. I'll be looking for that pissed off scientist. Some mellow non-tech guy from the other coast. |

This is excellent. I'm looking forward to getting together with Paceline pals, old and new.

Very cool...When in Virginia Beach I rode with a club that was sponsored by 'Donald's Go-Go World'...1985 or so.

I've done Cino a number of times and there are always people with modern bikes doing the ride. The first time I did it I didn't have a vintage bike and I rode it on a bike that was a few years old. I was told by the organizer that I was free to ride whatever I wanted but that I should be prepared to endure some mild and good natured ribbing. He was right. I got a few comments and teasing with a smile but it was cool.
That said doing the event on vintage gear really is more fun for all kinds of reasons. I look forward to taking my vintage bike off the hook and spending some quality time on it. I know for sure I'd be much faster on my modern bike but I also know that I'd enjoy the event more on the old bike. Either way i hope to see everyone there. Bring a modern bike for your first time and then build a vintage bike for the next time. dave |

The Mitchells Mortuary jerseys were inspired by a visit to the Bisbee Bike Brothel in 2020, right before Covid shut everything down. The bike shop building apparently was a mortuary BITD and the shop sponsored a team. There was an old team jersey hanging on the wall there and one of the guys on the trip commissioned replicas to be made. I couldn’t find a pic of me in mine but here’s one of a friend at Eroica in the unsanctioned red version. I post it because it might be one of the cooler mortuary logos you’ll ever see. Couple of pics from the bike brothel. Since closed down but at one time it would be a destination shop for a classic bike enthusiast.

Found this Radavist gallery of the Brothel, also in 2020. Looks like it was a cool place; too bad I'll not get to see it. Too many of the cooler vintage shops are gone...

Ooh, nice, thanks for posting Nick! As you can see, a small shop and every little turn, your jaw drops. You can see the inspiration jersey in the left border of pic #18. In that same pic, in the desk, is a wooden cylinder. We had been there about an hour, gawking and gabbing with Ken and he asked if any of us would like a little nip. He pulled a nice bottle of whiskey out of that wooden thing and we all had a shot or two of some good stuff.

I love the wheel covers on the old tubs. I always thought they were a bit pretentious BITD, totally useless (purpose?) but totally cool.
