How about the lowest serail number? I have #272...but there are obviously 271 frames before mine. Anyone have one of these?

Hey, Mike. The frame's head tube is extended 1 cm, so I guess that's where the custom serial number designation came from. Everything else is stock geometry.

This thread is killing me, I want another CSI.

Although this isn't a CSi, there is a nice CDA on eBay that is ending soon that looks like it fits your geometry requests...

The midnight blue CSi I bought about '97 is : cs 56 1143. I have scanned this thread and don't know what the last numbers signify. I'll post pic later, if the weather stays nice.

jf -- The last three or four digits indicate the order in which the frame was built. It looks like the highest number is in the 2K range.

Serial #

CCS 57 2050

Hopefully some pics later. It's actually a cross frame. Great bike!

Thanks for the info! I thought it was pretty much stock as it looks ALMOST exactly like my 56 CR except the CR has hot pink and dark purple fade paint... Hmmm can you guess when that frame was built?!?

The CSI is in the process of being built up - it is in a holding pattern right now because I have more on the honey do list to complete... BB, cranks, stem, bar, chorus shifters, rear der, brakes all installed. Wheels are going to be cheapo Askium's as thats what I have to spare.

What did you use on the DT for the shifter cable housing end's - my Hors Cat's use Serotta specific 'adjusters' - and my CR has the DT shifter bosses (or whatever you call 'em) so I haven't worked on a frame like this before. Any advice would help BTW - beautiful frame.

good advice

obtw,
not sure i saw the f3 in your post...
...i should look more closely.
the f2 with the 43 rake
is working quite well for me!

now this is what i call service!
maybe the sticky will result
in a revival of the tried and true
gold standard in modern day cycling!
maybe someday ben would build me
my very own
truly custom csi
fixed with fender mounts
and clearance for 32mm studded snow tires!

You saw correctly, I need to take a new picture of this bike with the mods that have occurred since this picture.
