I use 23mm Vittoria clinchers on my Boyd Altamont Lites and they measure out to about 25mm with the calipers. Run at about 80 PSI in the rear and 75 in the front they are as close to a tubular as I've ever experienced with clinchers.
I like 23s with wide rims. |

Now, do I want the corsas for a bit more money or do I try the veloflexes which I have never used |

When it comes to tubulars I have a distinct preference for Veloflex. When it comes to clinchers I have no opinion one way or the other. But if you're looking for near-tubular performance with a Boyd Altamont rim I would recommend a 23mm tire. Heck, I've even had quite reasonable ride quality and exceptional durability from a 23mm Continental on wide Pacenti rims, and Continental is rarely a tire I would recommend for quality or ride. |

ended up going with the veloflexes. They are on their way now. We will see how they compare to the corsas.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions |

You will like them. They roll well and are mighty comfortable.

veloflex tires still the gold standard for road riding IMO. the vittories are a little more durable, but the veloflexes ride nicer.
