This reminds me of an old post in the Pegoretti thread across the hall: someone posted a pic of their Peg with flat bars and they got a lot of grief for it....."sacrilege", "it needs drop bars ASAP", etc. Dario chimed in and said something along the lines of 'nice bike, I'm glad you like it'. Needless to say that ended the derision.

650b conversions are the current equivalent of the FG/SS conversions of the aughts.

But hey, whatever floats your bike.

isnt it annoying when people tell you how to ride your own bike?

I don't think its sacriledge to put flats on an old richard sachs, I actually think its pretty cool. I will always say drop bars look best but there is nothing like ridding a cruiser around town.

Let's pull it together, folks. This is not about clamping frames in service stands. We got that. Richard had a get out of jail free card.

This thread is about what Weisan should do with his frame. He wants examples, let's give him some examples. Like the friggin' track bikes thread, let's show him what he could potentially do with his frame. Who's up first?

Well since it's coupled already why not build it with that in mind

Like you might actually travel with it some day

If the point of the build is to get attention both good and bad then those bars are a great start, throw on some platform pedals etc

Such a build is about attention, like this thread

Sigh.

Aero TT bars and extensions.

Its the only answer that makes real sense in whatever warped universe of logic we're in.

I had a set of long reach brakes for the 650b conversion but they came in black, I wanted silver so that's no go. But guess what, today I went to my fav. co-op and there I found lying on the table was a silver rear brake and it matches the one I have for the front. It's a sign from heaven.

Also, I managed to find a basket that I like that will fit nicely in the front, not too big.

I'm loving this thread.

I'm going to be reaaalllly disappointed if that basket doesn't end up on there.

Weisan Pal, I took 3 minutes off my best time on the Paradise Dr. Loop rollers after converting from drops to flat bar. I'm sure the tires (Conti SpeedRide 42c) had something to do with it to since some of that road needs new surface but these tires rolled over it confidently.
